FA Cup
The FA Cup began as the Governor's Cup in 1945 and was later known as the Challenge Cup. The Competition has a rich history and was the premier Cup in Nigeria until the establishment of the national league in 1972. Below is a list of previous FA Cup winners:

Alex Oni Cup (Interethnic)
This was a Cup competition between ethnic groups. Non-Nigerians also presented a team. The competition was later discontinued because there were numerous fights among players and fans under highly charged atmosphere.

War Memorial Cup
This was the first major Cup competition in Nigeria and it involved clubs and schools that were based in Lagos. The competition was introduced to mark World War I Memorial.
